‼🚨 PROPERTY CRIMES UNIT SEEKING ASSISTANCE 🚨‼

The Property Crimes Unit needs your help identifying these individuals. Investigators would like to speak with them regarding a theft from a store on Moon Road.

If you receive a call from (404) 882-9802 claiming to be with the Georgia Department of Corrections and offering to help facilitate the release of a family member from prison in exchange for money or fees, hang up immediately.

They may claim your loved one qualifies for early release, work release, or electronic monitoring, but first require payment.

Never provide personal information, banking details, gift card numbers, cryptocurrency, or payment through apps such as Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle to unsolicited callers. If you have questions about an incarcerated family member, contact the facility or agency directly using an official phone number.

Please share this information with your family and friends to help prevent someone from becoming a victim of this scam.

On August 17th, 2026 at approximately 12:37 p.m. Harris County 911 received a report of an unresponsive woman in the front yard of a residence at 9306 Georgia Highway 208 in Waverly Hall.
Responding deputies discovered 35-year-old Nicole Karastury Elliott deceased in the yard from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound.

The follow-up investigation conducted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, along with crime-scene processing by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, revealed that at approximately 10:04 a.m., Ms. Elliott was involved in a domestic dispute with 36-year-old Andrew Roy Harris of 23 Ivy Lane, Phenix City, Alabama. During the dispute, Ms. Elliott was fatally shot.

Harris fled the scene and is currently wanted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault. He was last seen on foot in Phenix City after fleeing the America’s Best Value Inn near U.S. Highway 280 bypass.

Anyone who sees Harris should not approach him. Immediately call 911 or contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office with any information concerning his location. He is considered armed and dangerous.
This is an active investigation, and additional information will be released when appropriate.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones of Nicole Elliott. Domestic violence brings unimaginable pain to victims, families, and entire communities. We ask everyone to keep Ms. Elliott’s family in their thoughts and prayers as they face this heartbreaking loss.

Earlier today, the 911 center received a call regarding a reckless driver striking construction barrels in the construction zone on Highway 27 in Cataula.

Fortunately, members of our H.E.A.T unit were already in the area conducting speed enforcement and quickly located the vehicle. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver was highly intoxicated and the driver was arrested for DUI. The driver later provided a breath sample that registered more than four times the legal limit (.325 BAC).

A DUI arrest is expensive, but the consequences of causing a crash can be far worse.

As students return to school this Friday, drivers can expect a significant increase in school bus traffic throughout Harris County. With approximately 80-90 school buses on the road each morning and afternoon, we ask everyone to plan ahead, slow down, and remain alert.

When must you stop for a school bus?
- On a two-lane roadway, traffic in both directions must stop.

- On a multi-lane roadway without a median, traffic in both directions must stop.

- On a divided highway with a grass, concrete, or physical median, only traffic traveling behind the bus must stop. Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction are not required to stop

Before the first day of school tomorrow, give yourself a few extra minutes and slow down in school zones.

Watch for children crossing the street, school buses loading and unloading, and crossing guards helping students get to and from school safely.

School zone speed enforcement begins Monday, August 3, 2026.

A few extra seconds behind the wheel can make all the difference. Let’s help make this a safe school year for every student. 💙

Help us congratulate Deputy Sisk on his promotion to the rank of Corporal with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Corporal Sisk joined the Harris County Sheriff's Office in July 2021 as a Detention Officer at the Harris County Jail. Through hard work, dedication, and a strong commitment to serving our community, he completed the Georgia Basic Law Enforcement Training Course in 2023 and transferred to our Patrol Division.

Since joining Patrol, Corporal Sisk has served in several key roles, including Patrol Deputy, K-9 Handler, and Field Training Officer. This promotion reflects his continued dedication to excellence and the trust he has earned from his peers and supervisors.

Please join us in congratulating Corporal Sisk on this well-deserved promotion and wishing him continued success as he advances in his law enforcement career.
