September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Regular attendance helps students stay connected, build strong routines, and make the most of every opportunity to learn.

This year, Ohio’s attendance laws have changed. Schools must now contact families when a student has missed 5% of the school year’s required instructional hours for any reason.

We know families face illness, appointments, transportation challenges, and other barriers. These conversations are an opportunity for schools and families to work together early—before absences impact learning.

From supporting our own preschool and Head Start families to partnering with public school districts across our region, we’re proud to be partners in shaping lives, helping students be present, connected, and ready to learn.

FBAs get completed. BIPs get written. But what happens when behavior still doesn’t change?

Practical FBAs & BIPs: Data to Action in Real Classrooms is designed to help school teams bridge that gap.

This two-day, hands-on training will take teams through the process of understanding behavior, using manageable data to identify patterns and function, developing strong FBA hypotheses, and turning that information into practical, function-based BIPs.

This is not a sit-and-get training. Bring real student data, work alongside your team, and leave with tools and plans you can actually use.

📅 September 30: Building a strong, usable FBA
📅 October 28: Turning FBA data into a practical BIP
💰 $199 | Maximum of 50 participants
👥 Teams are encouraged to attend together.

Registration is open now: https://trst.in/BYZwb6

Introducing Just the Facts — our new monthly briefing created for families and communities.

Public education can make headlines, but headlines don’t always tell the whole story. Just the Facts will help break down the issues affecting Ohio schools in quick, easy-to-understand videos while reminding you that your local school district is your best source for understanding what those issues mean in your community.

In our first episode, we’re looking at Ohio property taxes and House Bill 186 and the potential changes to E-Rate, the federal program that helps schools and libraries pay for internet and technology services.

And Just the Facts isn’t only about policy. Subscribe to our monthly email to get these updates along with positive stories from schools across our region—the student successes, great educators and everyday moments that deserve to be shared.

Creativity, connection, and community partnership are helping transform learning spaces at the Butler County Juvenile Justice Center.

Through a meaningful partnership between our BCJJC Education Team and The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton , students recently helped bring an inspirational classroom painting project to life as part of the ongoing Trauma Informed Classroom Initiative.

Led by artist Mysta Bee, students played an active role in creating positive, uplifting spaces designed to inspire creativity, hope, and a sense of belonging.

It’s another example of what’s possible when community partners come together to create meaningful opportunities for young people—and another way we are partners in shaping lives.
