MYTH: If a veteran is laughing, working, or spending time with family, they can’t be struggling with mental health.

FACT: Many veterans hide depression, anxiety, PTSD, or suicidal thoughts behind a smile because they don’t want to burden others or appear weak.

Checking in matters. A simple conversation can open the door to support and save a life.

If you or a veteran you know is struggling, help is available.

Every name on the Butler County Veterans Memorial represents a life given in service to our nation and a family forever changed by sacrifice.

This memorial stands as a lasting tribute to the 747 Butler County service members who left for war and never returned home. It is a place for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude from a community that will never forget.

We invite the community to take a moment to watch, reflect, and remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer. It is a time to remember those who never came home, the families who carry their loss, and the freedoms preserved through their sacrifice.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude and remembrance.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
