The Town is transitioning to an automated curbside recycling collection program.

Beginning in mid-June, the town's contracted hauler, Casella Waste Systems will distribute one new 96-gallon wheeled recycling cart to every property in town. This single large cart will replace current recycling bins and will be used to collect all recyclable materials, including paper, glass, and plastics.

Casella will only collect recycling that is placed inside the newly issued 96-gallon cart after July 1. Crews will no longer pick up recycling from older, personal recycling barrels, and any recycling items left loose outside of the official cart will not be collected.

The "hot titles" shelf at the library is so fun. It's the 2020s version of the new release wall at the video store!

🔥 What's that we see? Not one, but TWO copies of "The Correspondent" on the Hot Titles shelf! Come on down and grab a copy of this highly sought-after title.

🔥 Hot Titles provide the chance for patrons to borrow in-demand books for two weeks on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no holds and no renewals on Hot Titles, giving you the chance to borrow popular reads that may otherwise have a lengthy waiting list.

We are actively tracking a power outage currently affecting 36 customers in Hamilton.

The outage is along Cutler Road. According to the National Grid dashboard, the outage began at 9:11 a.m. and the current estimated restoration time is 3:15 p.m. today.

With today’s high winds, there is an increased risk of downed trees and utility wires across town. Please treat all downed wires as live and dangerous. Do not approach, touch, or drive over them.

Report utility hazards immediately and if you experience a new outage or spot a fallen line, report it directly to National Grid at 1-800-322-3223.

Call 911 for immediate, active emergencies.

Effective immediately, all non-essential outdoor water use is banned in Hamilton.

To help protect the local water supply, please take the following steps:

* Stop all non-essential outdoor watering.
* Check for and fix any indoor leaks, running toilets, or dripping faucets.
* Run washing machines and dishwashers only when you have a full load.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your cooperation.

The Town currently has a limited supply of shade trees available for residents.

This is a great opportunity to enhance our community canopy, but these trees must be planted on the Town Right of Way (ROW) along your property line.

If you have the perfect spot along the street and are interested in claiming a tree, contact Select Board member Rosie Kennedy, who is spearheading this town-wide initiative and is available to answer questions.

Please email Rosie directly at [email protected] for further information and to request your tree.
