Hamilton Public Library’s
MYSTERY CREATE-ALONG SERVICE PROJECT
Will be STARTING SOON!!!!
WHAT IS a Mystery Create-Along?
We’re glad you asked! It’s a mystery because you won’t know what you’re making until it’s almost completed. The only thing we’re revealing at this point is that completed projects will be donated to a worthy cause. Every Thursday, a short section of the pattern will be made available on the Hamilton Public Library website.
It’s called a create-along because everybody who joins in the fun will be working on the same project at the same time. Create at home, or come to the library on Tuesday afternoon/evening to enjoy a face-to-face group experience. Assistance will also be available at that time.
WHAT SKILLS are needed?
In order to be as inclusive as possible, directions will be available for crocheting, knitting (both flat and in the round), and loom knitting. A motivated beginner should be able to complete the project. (Remember, you can get help at the library on Tuesdays.) Several options will also be given for more advanced crafters.
WHAT MATERIALS are required?
YARN: One of the great things about this particular project is that many types of yarn will work. It’s a great way to use up the bits and pieces in your scrap bin! The only requirement is that the yarn must hold up well when machine washed, possibly in hot water (so no wool!). Dark colors should be kept to a minimum, and some people feel that bright red should be avoided.
TOOLS: the size crochet hook, knitting needles, or loom needed to make gauge
OTHER supplies (nothing expensive!) to be revealed later. :)
