During company training today, our firefighters had the opportunity to utilize the Taylor’d Training Prop provided by the Alabama Fire College. This prop allowed personnel to perform several challenging and realistic drills, including firefighter entanglement, the Denver Drill, the Pittsburgh Drill, and vertical ventilation operations.

These hands-on training evolutions help sharpen critical skills, build confidence, and prepare our members for the challenges they may face on the fireground.

A special thank you to the Alabama Fire College for allowing us to use these valuable training props and for their continued commitment to firefighter education and safety. Opportunities like these help ensure our firefighters remain trained, prepared, and ready to serve our community.

Today, Lieutenant McCracken and Firefighter Palmer accompanied Recruit Emerson to VITAL training provided by the Alabama Fire College. During the training, Recruit Emerson participated in live fire evolutions and confined space training, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a controlled training environment.

These opportunities are an important part of preparing our newest firefighters for the challenges they will face in Recruit School and throughout their careers in the fire service. We are proud of Recruit Emerson’s dedication and commitment to learning and look forward to watching him continue to grow as a firefighter.

🚒 Training Tuesday at Hamilton Fire! 🚒

The first Tuesday of every month, our department comes together as one team and one family to train, sharpen our skills, and better prepare ourselves to serve the citizens of Hamilton.

Today’s training focused on three critical fireground skills:

🔥 Pulling and deploying attack lines while ensuring they were properly flaked out and free of kinks
🔥 Forcible entry techniques
🔥 Hose line advancement

To wrap up the day, crews participated in a full-scale structure fire scenario. Each crew was dispatched to a reported structure fire and was required to utilize all three skills they spent the morning perfecting. These realistic training evolutions help build confidence, improve teamwork, and ensure we’re ready when our community needs us most.

A big thank you to all of our members for their dedication and commitment to continuous training and professional development. The more we train today, the better prepared we are for tomorrow.

Tomorrow, May 14, 2026, is the last day to apply in person for an absentee ballot. This election is finally upon us! That’s good news! The other great news for our county is the number of softballers that will be playing in Oxford on Monday and Tuesday next week at the State Championship. 🥎 If you want to both cast your vote and make it to the state tournament next week, the deadline to cast the absentee ballot is tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. You can do that at the Marion County Circuit Clerk’s Office located on the 2nd floor of the Marion County Courthouse. Go vote and go teams!!!!
