💛What a wonderful day at Hamlin Beach State Park!

⚡Rebuilt after the severe storms back in 2017, Area 1 was restored with the idea in mind to better withstand increasing water levels and intense weather conditions.

🌼A wheelchair accessible shoreline trail, a strengthened jetty and newly gardened areas have all been a part of Area 1's restoration!

📅 Saturday, May 16th, 2026, Park staff return to the entrance of Hamlin Beach State Park to collect the vehicle entrance fee and give patrons directions to all the park has to offer on Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays.

🚗 The vehicle use fee is $9, for all patron motor vehicles, unless you have a camping reservation.

🌲 New York State Parks offer various admission programs for park patrons while entrances are staffed during peak season.

🌐 Check the official NYS Parks Admissions program page before you visit as you may be eligible for one of the other pass programs: https://parks.ny.gov/admission/

🚌 All buses are $35.

📲 The park is open daily, year-round, follow along this page as more of the seasonal entities open for the season!

📣 Hamlin Beach State Park’s campground opens Friday, May 15th!

🎟 If you have a camping reservation in the park, the vehicle use fee is included in your reservation.

❓ Camping or wish to? Here's what you need to know:

📅 All reservations for campsites go through ReserveAmerica.com and can book up to 9 months in advance.

🕒 Same day reservations can be made through Reserve America before 3pm.

⛺ Occupancy for each site is a 6 person maximum, if you have a larger group you will have to book more than one site.

🐕 There are designated pet loops in the campground: A, B, & C. You can have up to two pets per site.

🌐 Any changes to your reservation prior to your arrival goes through ReserveAmerica.com. Any changes the day of or during your stay is through the park.

📱 Book your stay today or gather more information through Reserve America at reserveamerica.com or by phone at 1-800-456-2267.

🌻As the weather phases into the spring season, New York State Park trails turn into muddy season!

🌨️Everyone wants to be spending the glorious days outside and though people are ready, our trails have not had time to recover from winter.

👣Most trail systems in NYS Parks in and around the Genesee valley are natural tread, meaning they were carved through the material present.

📝Here are some helpful tips to follow before you begin your hike…

👟Wear snug shoes that don't slip off easily and that you are ok getting dirty/ruined.

🧦Bring an extra pair of shoes, socks and clothes for after the hike!

🚶As a trail steward, it is important to stick to the trail, even if it's really muddy so trails don't continue to widen.

💗I Love My Park Day (ILMPD) is an annual event that brings together thousands of volunteers to enhance and celebrate New York's amazing parkland.

🖊Tasks to be completed will include cleaning out flower beds of sticks and debris from the winter, laying down mulch, planting flowers, and perhaps campsite cleanup.

👜Receive a complimentary commemorative 2026 I Love My Park Day tote bag with your volunteer service while supplies last.

🥾 New activities for all ages celebrate the spring sun, lakes, waterfalls, even the mud at local New York State parks in 2026!

✉️ Just email [email protected] to get the list of guided outings, activities, and special events every season, totaling over 1,000 activities year-round.

🌊This spring, Hamlin Beach State Park has many “Seasonal Saunters,” natural history outing to Devil’s Nose, stories of the well-preserved Civilian Conservation Corps camp, a “Tree-Mendous Meander” on Arbor Day, homeschool sessions, a “Nature is a Rainbow Pride Walk,” and full moon hikes like “Flower Moon,” “Blue Moon” and “Strawberry Moon.”

☀️ In 2025, City Magazine readers voted Hamlin one of Rochester’s favorite outdoor swimming spots. We’ll see you at the beach later! In the meantime, come explore the year-round trails with everyone!
