The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department will be having testing for Deputy position on November 15th, 2025, at Lincoln County High School at 11AM. Applications will be available the day of testing, and applicants will also be available at the Lincoln County Court House from 9:30 to 4:30.

****NOTICE****
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has taken possession of the (presumed to be abandoned) animal/animals depicted in the attached photo. The location the animal/animals was/were recovered was in the area of Little Coal River in Alum Creek, Lincoln County, West Virginia. In accordance with the WV state code 19-20-6 and WV state code 7-10-4, as is applicable, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office will remain in possession of the afore mentioned animals for the prescribed period of five (5) days, and a photograph of the animal/ animals will be placed in a conspicuous location in the Lincoln County Courthouse. If upon expiration of the five (5) days no one claiming ownership has come forth, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office will procced with the actions prescribed by WV state code. Please contact the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 304-824-7990 ext. 225 if you would like to claim ownership of the animal/ animals described above.
