🚨 SCAM ALERT🚨

These scammers are getting reallllll ⓓⓘⓡⓣⓨ.

We've told you before about scammers targeting relatives of inmates claiming to be from law enforcement. But here's the new twist:

☎️Rɪɴɢ, Rɪɴɢ☎️
"Hi there, this is Lt. Jane Doe with the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. ((𝙀𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙄𝙣𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚'𝙨 𝙉𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚)) is booked here with us on ((𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙧𝙪𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙)) and you have an opportunity to get them released for drug treatment assistance if you pay us money right now on Cash App/Venmo/Zelle."

‼️𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐀 𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐌‼️
❌DO NOT RESPOND❌

The caller provides legitimate info about an inmate’s booking details (𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳: 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝑻𝑷𝑺𝑶 𝒂𝒑𝒑, 𝘣𝘵𝘸), making them sound convincing. 𝐁𝐔𝐓, know that the TPSO (and our law enforcement partners and neighbors) *𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐍𝐎𝐓* call or text anyone regarding alternative methods of jail release. So just 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱.

As a side note, we ARE partnering with parish government to provide a bond treatment program, but that will be discussed directly with inmates, in person, at the jail. (𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘵.)

If you get any of these types of communication, feel free to contact our Criminal Investigations Division to verify and/or alert us at 985-902-2088.

Stay safe and scam free and help us spread the word!
