The limited precautionary boil water advisory has been rescinded. This included customers in the following areas: Hammond Area near the Hammond Airport, including Gorman Road from the corner of Airport Road to the corner of Booker II Road including Zeno Lane. The Louisiana Department of Health lab has tested the water and is safe for consumption.

Hammond Area near the Hammond Airport: The affected area includes Gorman Road from the corner of Airport Road to the corner of Booker II Road including Zeno Lane.
On August 25, 2026, Tangipahoa Water District was advised of a leak on the 6” main by a contractor. Due to the repair and in abundance of caution for the area, we will be issuing a Boil Water advisory.

All customers in the listed area should follow the Limited Precautionary Boil Advisory. Out of the abundance of caution and in accordance with the Louisiana Department of Health regulation, a limited precautionary boil advisory is in place.
This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by Tangipahoa Water District. It is recommended that all customers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using for food preparation or rinsing of food by the following means:
Boil water for {1} full minute in a clean container. The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)
Tangipahoa Water District will rescind the Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health - Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.

This included customers in the following areas: Independence/Loranger Area: Sweetwater Road; School Road from Sweetwater Road to Addison Road. The Louisiana Department of Health lab has tested the water and is safe for consumption.
