Today is International Overdose Awareness Day - a time to remember loved ones, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and strangers who have lost their lives to overdose.

Together, we can create a future where fewer lives are lost, where support is within reach for everyone, and where one day this global moment of remembrance is no longer necessary.

Until then, we remember. We act. And we continue on, together.

Our friends at Tangipahoa - Reshaping Attitudes for Community Change focused their monthly meeting with its Law Enforcement Task Force on the heat danger out there, specifically, the concern over children and hot cars.

Please, remember to always 👀LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK🔒

👜It is recommended to place a purse, cell phone, wallet or other essential item you would normally leave your car with in the backseat to ensure you check the backseat.

🧸It is also suggested to place a visual reminder, like a child’s toy, in the front passenger seat.

📞Lastly, have your child’s daycare or school call if the child does not arrive in the timeframe expected.
