TRIO ETS is still in awe of our Senior Recognition Night last week! 💫 We were so honored to have Dr. Bournes, the superintendent of Scec Nation, the principal, Mr. Brown of East Chicago Central High School, along with Maria Mercedez Mena-Taylor, EC School Board Trustee, join us to witness our seniors’ accomplishments! 👏🏽

Support from community stakeholders makes TRIO even more impactful in students’ lives and increases the likelihood of positive student outcomes!

Not to mention we can’t forget the strong support of the PNW Office of Student Life Director, Jinai Gordon! They always lend a helping hand when we need resources. 🙌🏾

Our student worker, Ciarra, active parents, and trusted student volunteers like Jade Lopez, make ALL the difference between a quality community program! THANK YOU!

Spring break, but make it college tours, community service, and core memories ✨🎒 We visited Louisville, stopped by the Slugger Museum ⚾, toured USI and University of Evansville 🏫, volunteered at the food bank ❤️, and finished strong at IU Bloomington 🔴⚪

The FAFSA deadline is April 15, and we want to help any last-minute applicants complete their form.

Purdue Northwest TRIO Talent Search and the Purdue Northwest Financial Aid Office are hosting FAFSA assistance nights from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at three different schools. The last appointment time will be 6:30 PM.

This event is open to ANY senior and their family, regardless of which school you attend.

Next Scholar Up is offering free tutoring every Monday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Hammond Public Library for students in grades 3–12.

Students can receive help with homework, studying, and strengthening skills in various subjects.

Our Grades 6–8 scholars are headed to Chicago for a powerful STEAM & Financial Literacy Day experience!

This hands-on trip will include:
