At Child Advocacy Services, we know that protecting children takes a team.

We are proud to celebrate one of our MDT partners, Detective Laura Mueller of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, for receiving the Louisiana Association of Crisis Negotiators’ “Tracy Morgan” Negotiator of the Year Award.

Her commitment to helping others through some of life’s most difficult moments reflects the compassion and professionalism we are fortunate to witness firsthand. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, and thank you for your continued partnership in helping provide safety, healing, and hope to children and families in our community. 💙

APSO Detective Receives Statewide Negotiator of the Year Award:

Congratulations to Detective Laura Mueller on being named the recipient of the Louisiana Association of Crisis Negotiators' "Tracy Morgan" Negotiator of the Year Award.

Detective Mueller is the first recipient of the award since it was renamed in honor of Louisiana State Trooper and crisis negotiator Sergeant Tracy Morgan.

Detective Mueller received the statewide honor for her outstanding work during a critical incident involving a barricaded and suicidal individual. Through patience, professionalism, and compassion, she helped bring a highly volatile situation to a peaceful resolution and ultimately helped save a life.

We are incredibly proud of Detective Mueller and this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for representing the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office with excellence.

📣 We’re Looking for 12 Threading Hope 365 Captains!

Can you help us fill the 2027 calendar with hope?

Child Advocacy Services is recruiting 12 passionate leaders to serve as Threading Hope 365 Captains—one captain for each month of the year. From July through December, our captains will rally their friends, family, coworkers, and community members to help fill every day of their assigned month.

Here’s how it works:
🗓️ January 1 = $1
🗓️ December 31 = $365
Every day is sponsored, every donation makes a difference, and together a fully filled calendar can raise nearly $66,795 to support children and families served through CASA and CAC programs.

As a Captain, you’ll:
✔️ Take ownership of one month
✔️ Build a team of supporters
✔️ Help recruit donors to fill each day
✔️ Make a lasting impact for children in foster care and children healing from abuse

We’re looking for community champions, business leaders, volunteers, advocates, and anyone who believes every child deserves a voice.

💙 One month. One leader. Hundreds of lives impacted.

Last year, 1,141 children served by CASA in Louisiana were reunified with their biological families. These reunifications represent not just numbers, but real stories of resilience l, healing, and hope. With guidance from CASA volunteers, many families are able to access the support they need to create safe, nurturing environments for their children to return home. Join Child Advocacy Services in celebrating National Reunification Month and help more families write their next chapter. Learn how to volunteer here www.childadv.net!
