• Executive Session: Tuesday, August 18

Information regarding the rescheduling of these meetings will be provided at a later date.

Dear School City of Hammond Families,

We understand that many of our families and staff members are still dealing with the impact of recent events and are not yet able to safely return to school or work. After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone the start of the school year.

School will not be in session for students on Tuesday.

We want our families and staff to have the time they need to take care of themselves, their loved ones, and their homes without the added concern of returning to school before our community is ready.

More information will be shared in the coming days regarding our plans for the remainder of the week and our revised schedule for the start of school.

We know our families have many questions, and we appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we continue to assess the situation. Please know that every decision we make will continue to place the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families first.

Please continue to stay safe, take care of yourselves and your families, and support one another during this time.
We look forward to welcoming our students back once our schools and community have been fully restored and we can safely move forward together.

🚨 UPDATE: POWER OUTAGES & BUILDING STATUS 🚨

Dear School City of Hammond Staff, Families, and Students:

We are providing an update following the severe weather that impacted our community.

Several School City of Hammond buildings remain without power. We are hopeful that service will be restored soon so we can safely return students and staff to our schools.

Our team will continue to monitor power restoration throughout the weekend and will share any updates or changes to the planned return dates for staff and students as soon as information becomes available.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this disruption. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and all decisions will be based on building readiness and safety.
