Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Facility Planning is seeking applications for the role of Project and Systems Manager. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Project Management; acts as a liaison between the University and the project architect and/or engineers. Responsibilities include assisting with development and project tracking, as well as managing the University's computer, mapping, and AutoCAD systems. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the review of all design submittals related to contract construction documents.

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Physical Plant Services invites applicants for a seasonal, part-time position as helper for the Student Housing Landscape crew. Tasks include mowing, string trimming, and edging turf areas, along with various other landscape duties.

This position offers 17 to 20 hours of work per week during the mowing season (March through September). The hours worked each week are somewhat flexible between 6:00 a. m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. This position is subject to “rain out” or rescheduling during inclement weather.

Prior experience operating zero-turn-radius lawn equipment and gas-powered landscape hand tools is preferred. Adaptability for work scheduling is also preferred. Pay will be commensurate with experience.

🐍 There’s never a dull day in Human Resources!

Monday started off with quite the mystery — a snake skin found in the HR office. Naturally, we had a few questions (and maybe a few quick exits from the room).

By Tuesday, the mystery deepened… until our certified herpetologist arrived to investigate. After some careful searching, our visitor was found — a harmless garter snake!

With the expert’s help, the little escape artist was safely removed from the building and is now in good hands.

Just another reminder that in HR, you never know what the week will bring — sometimes it’s benefits, sometimes it’s… a snake adventure! 😂🐍
