Summer Office Closure & Back-to-School Information

Dear Lincoln Elementary Families,

As we wrap up another wonderful school year, we want to thank you for your partnership and support. We hope you and your family have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer!

Please note that the Lincoln Elementary office will be closed during the summer break. Staff will return prior to the start of the school year and will be available to assist families at that time.

As you begin preparing for the new school year, mark your calendars for these important dates:
• Back-to-School Event at Hammond Central High School – Wednesday, July 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event is a great opportunity to gather important information, connect with community resources, and get ready for the school year.
• Lincoln Elementary Back-to-School Night – Tuesday, August 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Families will have the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, drop off supplies, and prepare for a successful start to the year.
• First Day of School – Wednesday, August 12, 2026. We are excited to welcome our students back for the 2026-2027 school year!

This year for Staff Appreciation, I had the students pick staff members to give positive notes to. One of the staff members who received a note was facing a difficult situation because the position she had been doing was being eliminated. There were other openings in our building for next year, but she was unsure about what to do next.
After receiving the positive notes from the students, she shared that they truly touched her heart and gave her the confidence to apply for one of the classroom positions. This week, we found out she got the job! When I congratulated her, she told me it was because of the positive notes and encouragement from the students that she decided to take that step.
It was such a wonderful reminder that even small acts of kindness and encouragement can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
