⏰ Reminder: FIFA World Cup 2026™ kicks off this Thursday!

Atlantic City is ready to welcome soccer fans from around the world as an official FIFA World Cup 2026™ viewing destination. Throughout the tournament, visitors can enjoy watch parties at locations across the city, including Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and Ocean Casino Resort, along with special events, themed food and drink offerings, and family-friendly activities.

The excitement continues all summer with beach soccer tournaments from June 13 through July 19, 2026, held every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., esports competitions, outdoor watch parties, and the Atlantic City Beach Festival and World Cup Watch Party on July 18-19, featuring live entertainment and giant screens for the third-place match and World Cup Final.

As fans travel to and from matches in the New York/New Jersey and Philadelphia regions, increased traffic is expected along major travel corridors before, during, and after games. If your travels take you through these areas, plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes when possible.

⚽ Whether you're heading to a match, a watch party, or the Shore, a little planning can help keep your trip moving smoothly.

Human Trafficking Awareness: Know the Signs. Help Save Lives.

The South Jersey Transportation Authority recognizes the importance of protecting not only our roadways, but also the people who travel them every day.

Human trafficking is a crime that can occur anywhere, including along major transportation corridors. Because of this, awareness plays a critical role in prevention and in helping victims receive the support they need.

Safety extends beyond maintaining infrastructure, it includes staying alert, looking out for one another, and recognizing when something may not be right. Service plazas, rest stops, and busy highways are places where informed travelers and employees can help make a difference.

If you observe suspicious activity, trust your instincts and report it to local authorities. You can also contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or visit humantraffickinghotline.org for resources and assistance.

Together, through awareness, vigilance, and action, we can help protect vulnerable individuals and keep our communities safe.

🚗 The Unspoken Rules of the Expressway

☀️ Summer is one of the busiest travel seasons on the Atlantic City Expressway. Whether you're heading to the Shore, visiting family, or just enjoying a weekend getaway, a few simple driving habits can help keep traffic moving and make the trip safer for everyone.

Think of these as the "unspoken rules of the road":

✅ Left Lane: Pass and move back right when you're done. The left lane is for passing, vnot cruising.

✅ Middle Lane (3-lane sections): Maintain your speed and keep traffic flowing. Use it for traveling, then move left to pass or right to exit.

✅ Right Lane: Best for slower traffic, entering and exiting the roadway, and preparing for upcoming turns or exits.

When everyone follows the flow of traffic, it helps reduce congestion, minimizes sudden lane changes, and creates a smoother drive for all. As summer travel picks up, let's work together to keep the Atlantic City Expressway moving safely and efficiently.

Have a safe summer and enjoy the ride!

🌀 Hurricane Season is here, and safety remains South Jersey Transportation Authority’s top priority.

Hurricane Season runs from June 1 through November 30. Forecasts are calling for an active hurricane season, making preparedness more important than ever.

At the SJTA, safety is our top priority. Our teams closely monitor weather conditions and roadway operations throughout the season to help keep travelers informed and safe. However, preparation starts before you get behind the wheel.

Before traveling, check weather forecasts and road conditions, especially during periods of heavy rain or tropical activity. Keep your vehicle fueled and stocked with emergency essentials such as water, snacks, a flashlight, a phone charger, and any necessary medications.

Remember that heavy rainfall can lead to flooding and dangerous driving conditions. If you encounter standing water on a road, even one you are familiar with, never attempt to drive through it. Strong winds can also affect vehicle handling, particularly for trucks, SUVs, and vehicles towing trailers.

Whether you're commuting, heading to the shore, or traveling across South Jersey, staying informed and planning ahead can help keep you and your family safe throughout hurricane season.

Stay alert. Stay prepared. Stay safe.

🍦 National Rocky Road Day is here! 🚗☀️

Today celebrates the classic combination of chocolate ice cream, marshmallows, and nuts known as Rocky Road. And while we may not have Rocky Road flavor available at our Farley Service Plaza or 7-Eleven location (BTW - the Atlantic City Expressway is not a rocky road either!), you'll still find plenty of favorites like vanilla, chocolate, and other delicious treats to satisfy your sweet tooth.

And with a heat wave expected over the next several days, there's no better time to stop, cool off, and grab some ice cream while traveling towards your favorite shore destination.

So, remember, although it's National Rocky Road Day, it's always smooth sailing on the ACX - just cool treats, sunny skies, and easy travels ahead! 🍨

Honor Their Sacrifice. Travel Safely.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. As families and friends travel to gather and mark the unofficial start of summer, safety remains our top priority.

If you are driving on the Atlantic City Expressway, please slow down, stay focused, buckle up, and never drive impaired or distracted. A few extra moments of caution can help everyone arrive safely.

From all of us at the South Jersey Transportation Authority, we wish you a safe and meaningful Memorial Day as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
