Reasons why it is hard to find a reasonably priced home.

Yesterday I made a post about rejecting a ME bill that would create a registration requirement for landlords owning rental units that included fees, fines & penalties. 🙅‍♀️

👇I do however, fully support this measure & introducing similar legislation for the state of Maine. As a Realtor, I have seen REO‘s come in with cash paying way over asking price, taking away home opportunities from regular citizens already battling low inventory. This drives up the comparative market analysis moving forward, making prices inflated.

I  would also include blocking foreign governments and hostile entities from buying property in Maine. A good example is the exposure of over 400 single-family residences being bought up by the Chinese Communist Party using shell companies to create illegal cannabis grow houses. Who knows what other illicit activity is coming in and out, including human trafficking. 🚫

Hampden Republicans will hold a town meeting on March 14th at 6:00 pm to elect new officers. Our bylaws recognize any Hampden voter registered as a Republican as a member of our town committee. The location is to be determined. It will be posted here as soon as determined.

Attention poll workers for 3/5 Presidential Primary

If anyone is interested in working at the Cross Center for the upcoming Presidential Primary on March 5th.

You can call the Bangor City Clerk, Lisa Goodwin at 992-4220. Bangor never has enough Republican Workers. Elections are supposed to be run with a 50/50 Democrat/Republican poll workers.

Bangor is never able to achieve this number since not enough Republicans sign up to be poll workers.

If Lisa tells you it is too late to sign up, ask her if there are enough Republican poll workers. You may be able to sign up to work at the next election if she has enough workers for the primary.

Early voting available at Hampden Town Office.

Maine’s Presidential primary is marred by an attempt to make it a ranked choice voting affair.

“The says it won’t recognize ranked choice voting in the March 5 presidential primary, adding another layer of complexity to an already confusing election.”

“It’s the first time ever that Maine is allowing what’s called a Semi-Opened Primary, allowing those voters to participate wherever they please,” says Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.”

“Previously I had found Mr. Trump to be disqualified but I suspended the effect of my decision pending the appeals and the court process,” Secretary Bellows says.

“Currently we are awaiting the US Supreme Court to make the decision as to whether Mr. Donald J Trump is disqualified. If he were to be disqualified, those votes will not count.”

Hampden Republicans will hold their election-year caucus on Saturday, March 2, 2024 with other Penobscot County towns at the Brewer Auditorium, Lower level at 9:00 am. We will conduct our town and county level business at that time. Sign up for the convention delegates and alternates for the April 26-27, 2024 convention will also take place. In addition our two Congressional candidates will address the group. Changes must take place! Come be part of making Maine better. PM me with questions. Never been to a caucus? Not a problem! Registered Republicans and Independents who register as Republicans prior to the caucus start are eligible to vote in caucus matters and be convention delegates.

Please also note there is a Republican primary scheduled for March 5, 2024 at your local polling place.
