Hampden firefighters responded to South Road today for a reported car fire parked next to a residential structure. Our on-duty day crew responded with an engine and a tanker, consisting of three personnel, who arrived within six minutes and quickly extinguished the fire, preventing damage to the structure and property loss. Thank you to the members of the Hampden Police Department who assisted with handling hose lines until additional personnel arrived. Mutual aid was requested from the Wilbraham Fire Department and the Somers Fire Department.

Congratulations to Firefighters Lafountain and Medeiros for successfully completing and graduating from the Mass Call Fire Academy last night. This comes after a long six months of training, testing, and certification.

⚠️ Parade Update ⚠️
Due to the current forecast calling for inclement weather, and for the safety of our parade participants and spectators, we have made the difficult decision to cancel today's parade.

We WILL still be holding our Memorial Day Ceremony at 11:00 AM at the Hampden Fire Department, located at 19 North Rd, Hampden, MA 01036.

We hope to see you there as we come together to Honor and Remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation.
