Good morning Sawyer Rd / Lancaster Rd neighborhood. Be advised due to a last minute change by the paving company, Sawyer Road is being paved today. Residents are asked to seek alternate routes if possible. The majority of the neighborhood should use Croy Path, to avoid delays.

Update on this afternoon’s police activity on Sandown Rd

Shortly after 2:00PM today, Hampstead Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a road rage incident that escalated into a fist fight in the middle of Sandown Road.

Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and, after an on-scene investigation, took an adult male from Danville, NH into custody. He was charged with Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Reckless Operation, and Driving While Intoxicated.

Anyone who witnessed this incident and has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Hampstead Police Department.

Thank you to everyone who called 911 and to our officers for their quick response.

Hampstead Police DUI Grant Patrol This Weekend.

The Hampstead Police Department will be conducting enhanced DUI enforcement patrols this weekend as part of the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety grant program. Our officers will be out in full force looking for impaired drivers to help keep our roads safe.

Drive sober. It’s not worth the risk. Impaired driving can result in serious injury, death, arrest, license suspension, and thousands of dollars in fines. If you plan to drink, designate a sober driver or use a rideshare.

We appreciate everyone who chooses to drive responsibly. Stay safe this weekend, Hampstead.

We found a sweet black Lab mix wandering near Wash Pond in Hampstead, New Hampshire. The dog appears to be a young adult, friendly, and in good condition but has no collar and no tags.

Happy Public Works Week!

We’d like to give a huge thank you to our outstanding Hampstead NH Highway Dept for everything you do all year long — fixing roads, clearing snow, filling potholes, and keeping our town moving.

We apologize for posting this on Friday… but it took the crew all week to get this one job done. (We’re pretty sure they’re still trying to figure out what’s down there.)
