Last Saturday, members of the Surf City Police Department proudly participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics athletes and the incredible spirit they represent. Carrying the “Flame of Hope” symbolizes courage, inclusion, determination, and unity for athletes of all abilities.

We are honored to stand alongside law enforcement agencies across the state as Guardians of the Flame, helping raise awareness and support for Special Olympics North Carolina. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on and continues to support this amazing cause. 🔥💙

On 05/05/2026, officers responded to Food Lion in reference to a larceny report. The suspect left the scene prior to officer arrival. Store personnel were notified and available surveillance footage was reviewed/collected. The investigation is ongoing.
