ALL OF THE ABOVE IS WHY WE NEED YOU! You have something unique to offer to your school and its students. Please consider joining the PTA today. You PTA dues support statewide and national child advocacy efforts by the NC and National PTAs. Individually, you have access to a number of exclusive benefits too - online parenting resources, e-newsletters on legislative issues, and most importantly, The Member-to-Member Network which connects you to Congress when help is needed on issues important to our children, schools and families.

Virtual General Membership Meeting Originally scheduled for Monday, June 1st has been rescheduled to Wednesday, June 3rd at 10 am! The link will be provided in the comments of this post!

During this meeting, members will vote on the nominees for the positions of PTA President and Vice President for the 2026-2027 school year.

The nominees are
President: Melissa Williamson
Vice President: Sara Cotten

Both Melissa & Sara have accepted their nominations and are committed to serve on the 26-27 PTA Board of Directors if elected.

We encourage all PTA members to attend and be part of this important vote so we can continue supporting our school community together! 💚

PTA is now accepting nominations for the 26-27 PTA President & Vice President positions. Nominations are due by Friday, May 22nd and will be voted on Monday June 1st in a virtual general membership meeting!

PTA is also taking recommendations for various Committee chairs and Members at large. Those can be shared on the nomination form as well!

How School Funding Impacts PCS

Pender County Schools has shared the 2026–2027 budget presentation provided to the Pender County Board of Commissioners, along with a brief video showing facility improvements made possible through county funding.

These materials help explain the needs of our schools and how funding decisions impact students, staff, transportation, technology, maintenance, HVAC, facilities, and daily operations.

County support has helped make important improvements across our district, and continued investment is needed to support the needs of our growing school system.

For TAW one of our sweet families designed and donated a tumbler to each staff member. We are so thankful for all of the families that show their appreciation in a multitude of ways throughout the year to the TAES staff!

On Day 5 of Teacher Appreciation Week a few of our amazing volunteers delivered carnival snacks to teachers and staff. This has been such a fun week!

We cannot end the week without extending our heartfelt gratitude to each and every family that donated time, talent or items to make Teacher & Staff Appreciation week extra special. We also would like to note these amazing local community partners whose kindness and generosity was extremely impactful. The Teachers & Staff went home with full bellies and full hearts this week. 💚Steadfast Nutrition

Day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week was yummy! Staff enjoyed salad, rolls and that delicious cinnamon butter from Texas Roadhouse as well as the ever delicious pizza from Italian Bistro- Hampstead. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who transported and set up the meal!
