As you may know we are experiencing mid-summer-like weather with a heat index approaching 95 and the potential for PM thunderstorms. Please read the briefing slide from the National Weather Service below. If you need assistance, Hampstead Public Library is the town cooling station and is open until 5:00PM today (6/12/26). The Hampstead Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of retired Fire Chief Walter "Chip" Hastings. Chip joined the department in 1967 along with his wife Susan and together they served for over 42 years. Chip served for 30 years as Chief of Department. He will be remembered fondly by the generations of firefighters he mentored in service to the community. Our thoughts are with his family.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced.

We currently have a visitor at the station. Does anyone recognize this adorable boy? If so please contact the Fire Station at 603-329-6006 so we can reunite him with his owner. We have let animal control know about him as well.
