The latest from the NWS is in the attached briefing slide regarding a heat index above 100 and the potential for significant wind gusts up to 75 mph and large hail up to 2 inches on Tuesday (tomorrow).

There is an enhanced risk of Tornado activity north of us in Maine - but remeber, weather patterns can always change.

The first official heatwave of the summer is upon us just in time to celebrate the 250th Birthday of the USA.

Please see the one-page briefing below from the NWS through NH HSEM.

Note that heat indexes will be well above 100 in some cases. T-Storms during the overnight may be severe.

The public is urged to use caution when working or playing outside, take breaks in the shade or inside, and stay hydrated.

The Library is open Wednesday and Thursday during normal business hours as the Town’s Cooling Center.

The Library is closed Friday and Saturday. Anyone needing cooling center services when the Library is not open can call the Hampstead Fire Department business line to be put in touch with the Shelter Manager for assistance.

As you may know we are experiencing mid-summer-like weather with a heat index approaching 95 and the potential for PM thunderstorms. Please read the briefing slide from the National Weather Service below. If you need assistance, Hampstead Public Library is the town cooling station and is open until 5:00PM today (6/12/26). As always stay safe.

The Hastings family will host a Celebration of Life in memory of Chip Hastings on May 9th from 1-3 pm at Hadley Hall, Hampstead Congregational Church. Please come by to share your memories and favorite 'Chipism'!
