🚫🔥 Attention New York State Residents 🔥🚫

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced that a burn ban will take effect Monday, March 16, 2026, and remain in place through Thursday, May 14, 2026.

The seasonal ban is designed to reduce the risk of wildfires and brush fires during the spring fire season.

With the winter storm and extreme cold coming in the next few days, please remember to keep the roadways clear so the plow operators can do their jobs, dig out at least 3’ around fire hydrants so firefighters can get to the hydrants and do their jobs. Do not use barbecues or generators indoors (even in a garage!), make sure to have flashlights or other battery powered lights available. Make sure your phones and other rechargeable devices are fully charged in the event of a power outage.
Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly. Be safe, everyone.

Vicar General of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, Father Alexander Karloutsos of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons blessed our new tethered drone for its first full functionality flight today in Southampton. This will prove to be a tremendous new asset for the Fire Marshal’s Office.

November 1st is the final chance in 2025 to dispose of pollutants! Hampton Bays transfer station will host a collection of pesticides, corrosives, pool chemicals, driveway sealers, hazardous paints and stains, polishes and waxes, adhesives, solvents, hazardous cleaning products, antifreeze, vehicle fluids, fluorescent light tubes, compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and ballasts, photography chemicals, products containing mercury (excluding thermostats), and propane gas cylinders that still contain propane. Event runs 9AM - 2PM. Thanks for doing your part to Stop Throwing Out Pollutants!
