Special Referendum – Floating Local Option Sales Tax (FLOST) - Imposition of 1 percent sales and use tax for five years with the proceeds exclusively used to lower property taxes.

CALL FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2026, GENERAL / SPECIAL HENRY COUNTY AND CITIES OF HENRY COUNTY REFERENDUM ELECTION

To be published in a newspaper of appropriate circulation pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-2(3).

Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540, the following elections will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 in Henry County, Georgia:

Special Referendum – Floating Local Option Sales Tax (FLOST) Imposition

Shall a special 1 percent sales and use tax be imposed for five years within the Special Taxing District of Henry County with the proceeds exclusively used to lower property taxes imposed by Henry County and the Cities of Hampton, Locust Grove, McDonough, and Stockbridge?

( ) YES ( ) NO

Advance Voting

Advance in-person voting for the November 3, 2026 Election will be held at those dates, times, and locations that will be posted on the Henry County Elections & Voter Registration website: https://www.henrycountyga.gov/elections-voter-registration

Election Day Voting

On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Voter Registration Deadline

The last day to register to vote in this election is October 5, 2026. Voters may check their registration status or view sample ballots online at mvp.sos.ga.gov.

Absentee Ballots

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is October 23, 2026. For more information or to request an absentee ballot, please contact the Henry County Elections Department at 770-288-6448.

🚧 PUBLIC NOTICE: WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION 🚧

The City of Hampton Water Department will temporarily interrupt water service on Friday, July 24, 2026, beginning at 7:00 a.m. while crews replace a water valve.

Affected Areas:
💧 James Street
💧 Derrick Avenue

Water service will be restored as soon as the work is completed. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these necessary improvements to our water system.
