Parents, guardians, mentors — this one is for us.
Summer break is almost here, and while our children may be excited for more freedom, we must remember: freedom without guidance can become risk.
So here’s the question:
Do you really know where your child is, who they are with, what they are watching, and what they are carrying emotionally?
Not to control them.
Not to embarrass them.
But to protect them, guide them, and remind them they are not alone.
The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney of Hampton encourages every family to stay present, stay aware, and stay connected. One conversation can prevent one bad decision. One check-in can reveal one hidden struggle. One involved adult can change the direction of a young person’s life.
