Can You Really Be Buried on Your Own Property?

Most Americans assume that burial can only take place in a cemetery.

Surprisingly, that's not always true.

In most states, home burial is legal under certain conditions. The exact requirements vary, but many jurisdictions allow burial on private property if zoning rules, setback requirements, environmental regulations, and recordkeeping requirements are satisfied.
