Of the 9 million veterans who receive care from Veterans Affairs, only 10% of them qualify for dental care. The CareQuest Institute for Oral Health recently took part in a podcast talking about veteran access to dental care--if you've got the time to listen, it's a great one to be able to learn more about the challenges our vets are facing when it comes to accessing dental care.

After nearly 10 years in this line of work, one of the many things that inspires me (but is also one of the more inspirational things I encounter) is the desire for our past clients to give back to the organization that helped them. I opened my email today to see that a donation was made for from one of our former clients. This person was around nearly 10 years ago and has had ups and downs with their own housing stability, but has still made a financial donation back to HELP. I remember carrying a couch to this person’s upstairs apartment (my back definitely remembers) and for the gracious attitude this person has kept throughout their lives and throughout their journey back to stability.
I can think of no better testimony than to say that our very own clients are able to become our very own donors and perpetuate the cycle of life-changing and life-saving care that occurs here at HELP. Join me in this continued work by supporting today.
