HOLLAND KILLED IN AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT
Air show pilot, industry leader, and ICAS member Rob Holland was killed late this morning when his MXS aircraft crashed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) in Virginia. Holland was arriving at JBLE to perform at the Air Power Over Hampton Roads air show this coming weekend. Details of the crash, including its cause, are being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

Holland, a 13-time consecutive U.S. National Aerobatic Champion and six-time World Freestyle Aerobatic Champion, was known across North America for his performances and industry-changing aerobatic maneuvers in his custom-built MXS-RH aircraft. A recipient of the prestigious Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award in 2012, he was widely recognized for pushing the boundaries of flight and inspiring audiences with his technical skill and passion for aviation.

During his 23-year career in the air show industry, Holland was an innovator, fierce competitor, and cherished ambassador for the air show community.

ICAS will share memorial arrangements as they become available.
