September has a way of feeling like a fresh start. New routines, cooler mornings, students settled into classrooms, and communities finding their rhythm again.

For Exchange Clubs across the country, it's a month of momentum: service projects picking up, programs in full swing, and neighbors showing up for neighbors.

Here's to a September full of purpose. Let's make it count, together.

Many thanks to Ed Biegler, whose wife Diane, handmade this beautiful 17-1/4” W x 17-1/4” L quilted table runner. It’ll be raffled off as part of our Dec. 5 Breakfast with Santa fundraiser. It features 3 embroidered panels depicting the shepherd’s sighting of the Star of Bethlehem; Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus in the manger; the 3 Wisemen bearing gifts. Stay tuned for how to get your raffle tickets. Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. You don’t need to be present to win, we will contact the winner!

We spent a great morning cooking up a delicious breakfast to welcome back to school the amazing staff at the Adult & Alternative Learning Center in Hampton. Many thanks to Myra Chambers, Mr. Cason, and our Exchangites, Jim Puckett, Bill Trimble, Richard Dietz, Alma Dietz, Vickie Servais, Bob Kimsey, Pat Garvey, Benn Trask, Jim Thomas, Jose Inchausti, and Steve Duke who volunteered for this great event! A special shout out to new member, Steve Duke, who flipped pancakes like a pro!

IMPORTANT REMINDER for AUGUST 12: Exchange Club members and volunteers needed at the Adult & Alternative Learning Center, 1646 Briarfield Road, Hampton VA 23669. We found the perfect way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday! We teamed up with Bethany Methodist Church to honor vets by taking them out to a Peninsula Pilots ball game outing. Our members passed out American flags to grateful families attending the ball game. We also raised money for our community service projects by selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a beautiful handmade patriotic quilt or basket filled with patriotic goodies. Many thanks to Greg Siegel for arranging the event as well as Doug Gray, Amber Hodges, Bill Trimble, Alma and Rich Dietz, Benn Trask, and Pat Garvey for their assistance!

Our highly anticipated Annual Fish Fry was a great success. We cooked up some delicious fried fish and served up some great side dishes and desserts for more than 30 members and guests.
It was the perfect way to start off the new year and enjoy fellowship with one another!

July 11 Reminder: Our Fish Fry is today at 5:00 pm at Hampton Baptist Church. For those who want to help us set up and cook, arrive by 3:30 pm. We will be serving fried fish, coleslaw, baked beans, etc. Don’t forget to bring a dessert to share!
