Information is a decisive advantage in today’s battlespace!

During a recent visit across U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, Air Combat Command leadership met with Airmen and mission partners to reinforce combat readiness, strengthen intelligence integration, and highlight the critical role Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance professionals play in delivering battlespace awareness and decision advantage.

The tour underscored ACC’s commitment to supporting forward-postured forces, enhancing warfighting capabilities, and ensuring Airmen have the resources needed to succeed in an increasingly complex security environment while strengthening partnerships with our NATO Allies.

U.S. Air Force Gen. Adrian Spain, commander of Air Combat Command, and Chief Master Sgt. Jeremy Unterseher, ACC command chief, visited Airmen across Europe during a multi-stop theater tour focused on

Today marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. While we honor the brave ground forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy, the success of Operation OVERLORD relied heavily on the skies above.

In the weeks leading up to June 6, 1944, Maj. Gen. Elwood "Pete" Quesada and the IX Fighter Command relentlessly struck enemy railways, bridges, and Luftwaffe airfields. Their efforts were so devastating that by D-Day, Allied air forces outnumbered their German counterparts 20 to 1, establishing complete control of the skies over France.

Quesada's command not only paved the way for the liberation of Europe, but their undeniable impact on the battlefield helped prove the necessity of an independent U.S. Air Force.

Leadership is a fundamental warfighting capability, and Air Combat Command is proud to celebrate Maj. Joe Goliber from U.S. Air Forces Central and Capt. Megan Langas of the 55th Fighter Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base on receiving the prestigious 2026 Lance P. Sijan Leadership Award.

Named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient Capt. Lance P. Sijan, this award represents the pinnacle of resilience, courage, and dedication to the Profession of Arms. By translating strategic readiness into decisive combat power, Maj. Goliber and Capt. Langas continue a legacy of unyielding warrior spirit. Please join us in congratulating these phenomenal leaders for their outstanding service and for ensuring ACC remains ready to win in any domain.

These are the warfighters that propel our mission forward!

The 388th Fighter Wing held a ceremony May 21 at Hill Air Force Base recognizing several Airmen, including pilots, maintainers and support personnel, for their bravery, service, and combat achievements during a 2025 deployment to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. During the ceremony, the Airmen were presented with the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star Medal. The Distinguished Flying Cross is awarded for heroism and achievements during non-routine flight, engaged with an opposing force. The Bronze Star is awarded for heroic or meritorious actions in a combat zone. Receiving one or both is a rare achievement for military members. In total, 6 members of the 388th received the DFC, while another 15 received the Bronze Star. Congratulations Panther Nation! 💪🪖🇺🇸

To build lethal warfighters, the 357th Fighter Squadron’s newest A-10 pilots recently bridged the gap between strategy and tactical reality by executing austere dirt landings and joint strike missions alongside Marines and Navy crews in California.

By relying on joint force coordination with Marine joint terminal attack controllers on the ground, these wingmen guarantee absolute operational accountability and prevent the fatal historical errors of assuming different military branches can seamlessly integrate without practice.

From the high-desert heat of Twentynine Palms to the maritime environment of San Clemente Island, the “Dragons” of the 357th Fighter Squadron recently pushed the A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft to its

Today, as we mark Victory in Europe Day, we remember that the flight path to victory started right here at Langley Field.

Two decades before the outbreak of World War II, the Air Corps Tactical School 1920-31, transformed our grass runways and the former National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) lab into the ultimate proving ground for modern airpower. It was here, at the present day location of Headquarters, Air Combat Command, that officers developed the pursuit, bombardment, and reconnaissance tactics that would ultimately turn the tide of the war. Visionaries like future first Air Force Chief of Staff, General Carl Spaatz and General Frank M. Andrews honed their skills in our local skies long before they secured victory in Europe. History happened here.

Today, we honor the Langley legacy that made allied victory possible.
