🌊☀️ Splash Pad Season is Coming to an End! ☀️🌊

Enjoy it while you can! The last day of operation for the Hancock Splash Pad will be Sunday, September 13th.

We want to thank everyone who visited throughout the season and helped make the Splash Pad a fun place for families and children to cool off during the summer months. 💦

Be sure to stop by before the season ends and make a few more splash-filled memories!

🗑️ Reminder: Trash Collection Rules 🗑️

The Town of Hancock would like to remind residents that trash containers may not be placed at the curb until after 5:00 PM on the evening before your scheduled collection day.

✅ Wednesday Collection Route:
Trash may be placed out after 5:00 PM on Tuesday.

✅ Friday Collection Route:
Trash may be placed out after 5:00 PM on Thursday.

Keeping containers off the street and out of public view until the designated time helps maintain the appearance of our community and prevents trash from being scattered by wind, animals, or weather.

🚧 Main Street Paving Notice 🚧

The Town of Hancock has been notified that Craig Paving has been contracted by the State of Maryland to pave the sections of Main Street that were excavated as part of the Columbia Gas utility project.

🛣️ Paving operations are currently scheduled to take place Thursday, August 13th and Friday, August 14th.

Motorists should expect:

✅ Temporary traffic delays
✅ Lane restrictions in work areas
✅ Construction equipment and personnel along the roadway

Please use caution when traveling through the work zone and allow extra time for your commute.

🚛 Trash Collection Update

The trash collection truck experienced a mechanical breakdown this afternoon before the route was completed.

Burgmeier's has advised that a replacement truck will be sent out tomorrow to complete the remaining route. If your trash was not collected today, please leave your containers at the curb so they can be serviced tomorrow.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while this issue is resolved.

⚠️ Splash Pad Temporarily Closed: August 7th at 1:30 pm

Due to lightning in the area, the Hancock Splash Pad has been temporarily shut down for the safety of all visitors.

The splash pad will reopen once the threat of lightning has passed and conditions are deemed safe.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please stay weather aware and seek shelter during thunderstorms. ⛈️
