Yesterday was a bittersweet and exciting day for Team Yellow. We are in our new station! The old station one has been cleaned out and all equipment and apparatus have been moved to their new home across the street. We took down the station sign and flag from the flag pole which will be retired. A new pair of flags was raised and we did a push in of the apparatus into the bays. We still have a few housekeeping things to take care of before we do an open house but we are excited to show off our new house! See comments for videos!

Thanks to vehicles donated by DC Towing & Recovery we were able to get in some hands on extrication training! We split the training into two days to get as many members the experience as possible. The training covered everything including scene size up, safety, patient triage and safety, removing doors, roofs, and performing dash lifts. The focus was on our safety, patient safety, and thinking outside the box. We were even able to incorporate our lifting air bags. For many members this was a new experience. We are fortunate to not have to use these tools often in real emergencies, but you can never be too prepared!

May was another busy and exciting month for our members! The following is the final tally for the month of May:

1 Fire Alarm
2 Propane Alarms
2 Mutual Aid Structure Fire Responses
1 Unpermitted Burn
38 Medical Calls

May Call Total: 44 Calls

Total Calls for 2026: 214 Calls

We also held our regular monthly meeting and monthly training which consisted of vehicle extrication with generously donated vehicles from DC Towing & Recovery. Some members still need to complete the extrication training and we will post pictures after. Three newer members have obtained their EVOC certifications and have begun driver training on our apparatus. One newer member has also started EMT class and we wish her the best on this exciting journey! We also assisted with the towns Memorial Day service and had a great turnout. We are happy to announce that we received the final inspection on the new station and have keys in hand! We are slowly starting to move equipment over to the new station and getting it furnished with hopes of having an open house in the near future, stay tuned! Thank you to our members for doing what they can when they can! As always, thank you to the citizens for your continued support!

Happy EMS week to all our dedicated providers! Each and every one takes time out of their day, away from family and friends, all to help someone they likely have never met before. This year’s theme is improving outcomes, together. Right from the beginning when the 911 call takes place and the dispatchers give life saving instructions, to first responders arriving on scene, the ambulance arriving, and often fire department personnel, we all work together to help give the public the best of us so they have the best chance! Thank you all for all you do!
