AGRICULTURE & FFA PROGRAM
Please see below for a message from one of our MS-HS teachers, Ms. Barnhart, regarding an Agriculture & FFA program for our students at HCS!

🌱 Calling all agriculture folks in our community! 🐄🌻
I’m excited to share that I’m working on starting an Agriculture & FFA program at our school! The goal is to give students hands-on experiences, expose them to the many different careers within agriculture, and connect them with the amazing agricultural community around us.
I’m looking to connect with people involved in ALL areas of agriculture — farming, livestock, equine, horticulture, gardening, forestry, conservation, mechanics, agricultural business, veterinary fields, food production, landscaping, agritourism, and so much more!
There are lots of ways you could help, and you don’t have to be an expert or commit to anything long-term.
We’d love to have folks who are willing to:
🌱 Share their knowledge or experiences with students
👩🌾 Participate in career days or classroom presentations
🐄 Demonstrate skills or talk about their work
🌻 Help students learn through hands-on projects
👷♂️ Provide supervision or mentorship during certain activities
🏡 Share ideas, resources, or connections
🤝 Partner with us on community projects
Some of the projects we’re hoping to develop include vegetable gardens, flower gardens, agricultural learning spaces, and community service projects, along with many other hands-on opportunities as the program grows.
Agriculture is so much more than farming, and I want our students to see the wide variety of careers and opportunities available in this field.
If you work in agriculture, have an agricultural background, or simply have a skill or area of knowledge you’d enjoy sharing with students, I would love to hear from you! Even if you’re not sure how you could help, please reach out — we can figure it out together. ❤️
📧 Interested in getting involved?
Please email Alissa Barnhart at [email protected] to share your information, area of expertise, or ideas for how you might be able to support our students.
Please feel free to share this post with someone who might be interested!
I’m really excited about what we can build for our students and our community! 🌱🐓🌻🚜
