MUSIC AND GRATITUDE AT MORNING PROGRAM

This morning, our elementary students filled the air with music during their Morning Program, putting on a wonderful performance for the community members who joined us. Their beautiful voices and enthusiasm made for a truly memorable event!

The program also included a heartfelt surprise for their chorus teacher, Mrs. Noyd, who will be retiring from Hancock Central School at the end of this school year. The students shared a special message of appreciation, thanking her for the kindness, encouragement, and love of music she has instilled in so many students throughout the years.

Mrs. Noyd, thank you for your unwavering dedication, passion, and the countless memories you've created with generations of Wildcats. Your impact on our school community will be felt for years to come.

Please join us in congratulating our elementary Students of the Week for their outstanding character, determination, and positive contributions to our school community!

Wyatt Drake was selected by Mrs. Prescott for being a friendly and helpful classmate who is always willing to lend a hand. Wyatt consistently demonstrates resilience, approaching challenges with a positive attitude, working through difficult tasks, and never giving up.

Cora Thomason was selected by Mrs. Cooper in recognition of her continued perseverance throughout the school year. Cora has consistently found ways to overcome challenges and succeed, making her a wonderful example of determination and resilience.

Congratulations, Wyatt and Cora! Thank you for representing Hancock Central School District with your hard work, kindness, and dedication.

ROAD TO THE FINAL FOUR!

Good luck to our Deposit-Hancock Eagles Softball Team as they compete in the NYSPHSAA Class C State Semifinals tomorrow!

• Friday, June 12, 5:30 p.m. vs St. Lawrence Central (Section X)
• Field 2 – Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park, Binghamton

A win tomorrow will send the Eagles to the NYSPHSAA Class C Championship Game on Saturday, June 13, where they will face the winner of Galway (Section II) and Pine Plains (Section IX).

HANDS-ON MATH FUN IN 3RD GRADE!

Mrs. Cooper's 3rd grade students explored customary measurement conversions in math today by creating their very own "Gallon Bots!"

This fun, hands-on activity helped students visualize the relationships between gallons, quarts, pints, and cups, making measurement conversions easier to understand and remember. Learning is always more exciting when students can create while they discover!

Great job, 3rd grade! Keep up the excellent work!

Just a friendly reminder about tonight's joint Deposit-Hancock BOE meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the HCS MS-HS Auditorium.

JOINT DEPOSIT-HANCOCK BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING

The Deposit and Hancock Boards of Education will hold a joint Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the HCS Middle-High School Auditorium.

We look forward to reviewing the results of the final merger study, which will be presented to the Deposit and Hancock Boards of Education by Cosimo Tangorra Jr. and Scott Bischoping of Leadership Solutions Advisers (LSA). BT-BOCES Superintendent Rebecca Stone and DCMO BOCES Superintendent Michael Rullo will also present information regarding school district reorganization. Additionally, David Elliott from the New York State Education Department will be in attendance.

CLASS OF 2026 SENIOR WALK

Earlier today, our Class of 2026 took one of the most memorable walks of their high school journey, their Senior Walk through the elementary school!

As they made their way through the halls, our youngest Wildcats cheered them on, celebrating the accomplishments and bright futures of our graduating seniors. Afterward, the Class of 2026 gathered together for their official class photo, capturing a special moment they will always remember.

To our seniors: thank you for the memories, leadership, and school spirit you've shared throughout your years at Hancock Central School. Graduation is just around the corner, and while your time as Wildcats is coming to an end, an exciting new chapter is just beginning.

Please join us as we celebrate the Hancock Central School Class of 2026 at High School Graduation on Friday, June 26th, at 7:00 p.m. in the MS-HS Auditorium. Family, friends, and community members are invited to attend this special evening as we honor the accomplishments of our graduates.
