After more than 25 years of dedicated service, we celebrate an incredible dispatcher whose voice, calm, and commitment have made a lasting impact at the Hanford Police Department.

Throughout her career, she has answered thousands of calls, helped countless people in their moments of need, and played a key role in training and mentoring generations of dispatchers. Her knowledge, professionalism, and steady presence will be deeply missed by the coworkers she leaves behind.

Eileen, thank you for your years of service, your leadership, and the legacy you’ve built. Wishing you the very best in your next chapter — you’ve earned it.Of course — here are **work-appropriate, respectful hashtags** that fit an Instagram retirement/recognition post for a dispatcher:

Today, we want to take a moment to thank Richard Johnson, our lead dispatch supervisor, for 22 years of dedicated service. Richard has been an extremely reliable and steady presence in our dispatch center, always there to help guide the team through busy and stressful times.

Over the years, Richard has made many friends along the way, and for some, he’s been like family. His steady approach, hard work, and good humor have made him someone we could count on day in and day out.

Thank you, Richard, for everything you’ve done for the department and for the relationships you’ve built. Your years of service will always be appreciated, and you’ll always be a part of this team.

Hanford Fire Department Announces New Battalion Chief

Tom McKean received his command helmet yesterday and will now undergo a two-week orientation and training for his new department roles as training officer and data officer.

“I began my fire service career in 2002,” McKean said. “I've held the position of firefighter, engineer and captain. I've been a CPR instructor for 22 years for the department and have taught most of the employees of the City in addition to various groups within the community. I established and maintained the HFD peer support team. I serve on the policy review committee and also helped develop the Tulare Kings RIC policy.

I earned my bachelor's degree in 2018 and am currently working on my master's degree. I am married with three kids and coached numerous sports teams when the kids were young. I'm excited about this opportunity to serve the fire department and the community.“

Congratulations Battalion Chief McKean, and thank you for your many years of service to the department and community!

Hanford Fire Department Fire Safety Message:
Close Before You Doze

Closing your bedroom door when you go to sleep at night will help keep you safe from fire and smoke and possibly save your life.

How?

-Stops fire from growing and spreading
-Keeps smoke and heat out of the room

Always remember to have functioning smoke alarms and an escape plan to practice with you and your family.

See the flyer for more information about the Fire Safety Research Institute's Close Before You Doze awareness campaign.
