When a truckload of kindness arrives, we notice! 🚚❤️

A big shout out to General Mills for their generous donation to our food pantry. Their support helps keep our shelves stocked and provides food to local families, seniors, and individuals who rely on our services.

It took a small army of Douglass volunteers AND General Mills employees to unload it all, but the pantry is full and so are our hearts!

We're incredibly grateful for partners who believe in supporting their communities and making a real impact.

A huge thank you to one of our incredible community members, Dave K., who has been spending time in our garden planting all sorts of wonderful plants! We are grateful for his knowledge, dedication, and willingness to share his time and talents with our community. Douglass Community Services Board of Directors recently awarded Zackaria French the DCS Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship awards graduating seniors who are entering trade programs, two-year college, apprenticeships or school to work paths. Shown with Zackaria is Emily Dexheimer, DCS Board Vice President. Congratulations Zackaria!

Who is behind assisting families in securing housing or utility assistance for Douglass? Our housing director, Mike Blase! When people are in need of rental assistance, bringing utilities up to date or other information that supports families, people call on Mike. During his time with Douglass, he has helped families with financial assistance of over $1 million dollars, impacting hundreds of children and adults during times of crisis. We are proud of the Mike, his work and the impact that he makes in our community! Thanks Mike for supporting our mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities!

🚌🥫 A HUGE THANK YOU to the Hannibal High School Class of 2026! 🥫🚌

As part of Pirate Pride Day of Caring, this group of over 100 students set out to collect 2,026 pounds of food to support local food pantries - and their generosity, hard work, and community spirit truly made an impact! ❤️ The collected food was hand delivered to the Douglass Pantry- on their last full day of school.

We are so grateful for their efforts and for everyone who donated to help support families in our community. This effort supports local partners and helps ensure families have access to food when school is out. Acts of kindness like this remind us just how strong and caring Hannibal can be.
