Update on the severe weather threat this evening:

The higher potential for damaging wind was expanded south to include the area. Again, the most likely severe storm timing is from 3-10pm across the forecast area. Not everyone will see severe storms. Check mobile.weather.gov for on-the-go updates.

Ahead of an approaching cold front tomorrow, temperatures across much of the area will rise into the mid to upper 90s. When combined with high humidity, heat index values will increase to around 105 degrees for much of the area during the afternoon into the early evening. Stay cool and hydrated!

There is a chance of thunderstorms over the area through tonight. One or two of these storms may become severe late this afternoon and this evening, with the main threat being damaging winds.

A heat advisory is now in effect over much of the area through early Wednesday evening as heat indices climb to around 105 degrees each afternoon.

===EXPIRED POST=== The City of Palmyra is experiencing a major water system outage this morning. Crews have located the issue however it is unknown how long it will take to make repairs. The City has issued a 48-hour boil order for all Palmyra water customers.
