A review article examined the role of International Board Certified Lactation Consultant support in outpatient settings after birth. One of the studies included in this review was Dr. Witt's article "Integrating routine lactation consultant support into a pediatric practice." This study, along with the others 6 studies analyzed in the review article supports the findings that early IBCLC support within the first 2 weeks postpartum improves breastfeeding duration and exclusivity.
As we approach World Breastfeeding Week, and work to "Strengthen What Works," encouraging primary care practices to integrate breastfeeding support into their outpatient visits is critical.
We are proud to collaborate with Senders Pediatrics and offer IBCLC care to all breastfeeding families at their initial newborn visits after hospital discharge!

Updated Missouri WIC Income Guidelines

Updated WIC income eligibility guidelines were just released! A family of 2 with a pre-tax (gross) income at or below $40,034 annually now qualifies. Participants in SNAP, TA and most MO HealthNet programs are automatically income-eligible for WIC.
