Today we had the National Registry psychomotor exam, we are pleased to announce we had a 100% pass rate again. The EMT students will now go on to take the cognitive exam. We want to congratulate all the students and hope to see all of them out in the field soon.

Today our Hanover Area School District High School EMT students were able to participate in a hands on and interactive training session. They played victims in an active shooter drill. They also participated in multiple different stations including, stop the bleed, tourniquet application, rapid patient extrication techniques, and communication skills.

After a long day they were able to relax for a few hours at the water park, they earned it!

Exciting News

Exciting News!

Hanover Area School District and Hanover Township Community Ambulance Association Medic 9 in partnership with the Thomas Gusher Training Institute is proud to announce that for the 2023/2024 school year, Hanover Area Junior and Senior Class will be able to enroll in the Emergency Medical Technician Certification Program. The Program will be offered to students during their school day as an elective class. Students will graduate as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and create a career pathway not only in EMS but other emergency service fields. This program is also the beginning of the Student Response Team in the high school.

The Thomas Gusher Jr. Training Institute was created to keep the relentless and devoted pursuit of enhancing EMS Education to First Responders by Thomas Gusher Jr. who lost his six year battle to cancer at age 22. He was a 1994 graduate of Hanover Area and a Paramedic and Firefighter in the township. Even through his sickness he was teaching and helping those who wanted to help others. It is an Honor to keep his memory and drive for excellence in EMS going now and well into the future with this program

Offering this education to our students strengthens our community and builds support for all Emergency Services. Hanover Area is the first to offer these two programs to its students in the area.

Tonight Mark Mackachinas, our former EMT student successfully passed the LCCC paramedic program. We are incredibly proud of Mark. He also chose Lieutenant Jenn Molski as his preceptor. Congratulations Mark we can’t wait to see you on the Hanover Township Ambulance soon.
