White Fire Hydrants?!
If you see white fire hydrants over the next few weeks, don’t be alarmed. The Village’s annual hydrant painting project has kicked off in the neighborhoods along Lake Street. The Village's contractor will sandblast the hydrants to remove the existing paint, apply a white primer, and then repaint them red. The hydrants need to dry between these steps, so you may see a non-red hydrant for a few days between each step. If you have any questions, contact our Engineering Division at 630-823-5700 or visit www.hpil.org/1234/current-projects.

📢 📝 A message from DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM) about the outdoor warning sirens being activated last night!

"At approximately 3:00am on August 18th, a member of DU-COMM staff attempted to conduct a planned test of the weather siren activation systems. These tests are designed to assess the functionality of the technology without activating the sirens.

During the test, the staff member accidentally activated the sirens. As soon as the error was realized, DU-COMM staff deactivated the sirens.

DU-COMM recognizes and appreciates the trust its member agencies and the public place in us, and we regret that our error caused unnecessary interruption or confusion. We sincerely apologize."
