Here we go! The 7th Annual 48 Hour Video Contest is THIS weekend! Kick off meeting is Friday, Sept. 27 at 4:00 pm where you will receive a prompt and prop that must a part of your video. Screening of all submissions will be on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8:00 pm in JMC's Innovation Studio. Link to all the deets in comment below.

Major: Double major in Government and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

Abbeygale Anderson has dedicated her time to being a leader in various communities. She served as the president of Dartmouth’s chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Anderson’s involvement in the NAACP allowed her to learn about advocacy while receiving the support she needed to succeed during her time on campus. Wanting to make other campus organizations more inclusive, she became the chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of student government and a member of the Council on Student Organizations. Aligning her professional and social interests, Anderson was an associate for Smart Women’s Security and studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science. After graduation, Anderson will be working as an investment banking analyst in New York, where she will get more experience before pursuing her JD/MBA.

Are you looking for an excellent experience to learn or take your skills to the next level with digital media?! Consider spending another year at Dartmouth, with pay and benefits, and apply for the Jones Memorial Digital Media Fellowship!

The Jones Memorial Digital Media Fellowship provides an opportunity for a graduating student or recent graduate of Dartmouth College to spend a year learning digital media technology as applied to the academic curriculum and careers in librarianship. The fellowship may be tailored to the individual interests of the candidate where their skills support the mission of the Jones Media Center.

Successful applicants will be highly motivated and innovative individuals, with strong academic records and an interest and aptitude for working with digital media hardware and software. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills and an enthusiasm for helping students, faculty and other library patrons use new technology are essential.

Responsibilities:

" Develop skills using digital media hardware and software
" Produce multimedia exhibits and promotional materials
" Present at a national media conference
" Assist students, faculty, staff and alumni with their multimedia projects
" Learn about media preservation and restoration
" Teach workshops on digital media software applications
" Gain experience with library collections, systems and services
