Namaskaram Everyone & A Very Happy Deepavali to all of you!

As is tradition, Dartmouth Shanti will be having a Deepavali candle lighting event this year (with some modifications because of COVID).

Second, please tag your Diwali posts and photos with so we can all celebrate together online!

Finally, students, check your emails for details on a lighting event (on campus students only due to COVID restrictions). If you don’t see and email contact [email protected] for details. Here are the rules that we must follow at the candle lighting event:

When you arrive for the in-person lighting please remember the following:

1. The lighting is for pre-registered Dartmouth students with on-campus access at their registered time-slots only. Due to Covid restrictions we are unable to allow anyone who did not sign up for the time-slot on the above link to participate. You will also be required to check in with your student ID on arrival.

2. All students must complete the TSA before arrival.

3. Masks are mandatory at the in-person lighting as is physical distancing, so there will, unfortunately, be no group photos.

4. The lighting will require close contact with fire. Please allow for time in between the use of hand-sanitizer and lighting the candles, as hand-sanitizer is highly flammable.

TODAY: Holi and a cultural performance show!

Holi (students only!)

Come play Holi with us! Throw water and colors at yourself, friends, and everyone else!

When: 1-3 PM, TODAY
Where: Lawn space between Rollins Chapel and Wheeler

Nrityavasantam (cultural performance show + food!)

When: 6-7 PM, TODAY
Where: Rollins Chapel

Nrityavasantam is a Shanti event with cultural performances from Dartmouth students and local Shanti community members. There will be classical vocals, dances, music and Indian vegetarian food!

Dartmouth Shanti was pleased to host a fantastic Bharat Natyam (in partnership with Raga Arts @ Dartmouth) concert this evening, featuring Professor Smt. Smita Mahajan of Pune University, along with her talented daughters Anwita Mahajan '17 and Anushka Mahajan.
