Dartmouth EMS

Dartmouth EMS is a student-run and student-staffed New Hampshire Licensed, BLS Non-Transport EMS Squad based at Dartmouth College.

Dartmouth EMS is a student-run non-transport Basic Life Support (BLS) squad licensed by the state of New Hampshire. Dartmouth EMS was founded in 1991 by a group of motivated students looking to improve pre-hospital care and education for the community, and it has since expanded to provide a variety of services to Dartmouth College and the surrounding Upper Valley community. Dartmouth EMS members a

re trained to provide all appropriate BLS care ranging from simple first-aid to life-saving interventions as licensed EMT-B's. Dartmouth EMS never charges its patients for any services provided. All funds that are raised through coverage charges, course fees, and donations are used to defray equipment costs and operating expenses. If you are interested in helping us to provide these services, or if you would like EMS coverage at your event, please click on the Event Coverage link on the navigation bar. Dartmouth EMS provides standby coverage for a wide variety of College and community events. We cover many College athletic events, from men’s hockey games to Frisbee, lacrosse, and volleyball tournaments. We also cover general campus-wide events, ranging from the Polar Bear Swim to the presidential debates. Dartmouth EMS works with a number of non-Dartmouth organizations as well, including local towns and schools. Dartmouth EMS does not transport patients, and as such, the crew will be at the event for its entire duration. The hiring organization is charged a flat hourly rate, and patients are not billed.

Reconnect and chat with your mentor or mentee over dinner on Saturday, February 28th, at 6 PM in the Paganucci Lounge, located in the lobby of the Class of 1953 Commons. This event counts for 0.5 ops reqs in the Social Events category!
We can’t wait to see you all there and to see our demslings catch up with their mentors!

Another awesome week of training! 🚑 Dr. Thomas Trimarco from DHMC, our Emergency Medical Systems advisor, reviewed calls with us and helped us strengthen our assessment, treatment and patient interaction skills.

Last week, D-EMS had the pleasure of welcoming David Koch, an Advanced practice registered nurse at DHMC, to our weekly training! Together, we worked through real cases and learned a lot. We’re so grateful to be able to learn from skilled healthcare professionals who help us continue improving!

Summer term is off to a great start for D-EMS! Our team has been hard at work providing numerous overnight shifts, supporting events like The Prouty and the Xpressions Summer Event, and participating in the Active Shooter Training alongside other campus and local agencies here at Dartmouth!💚
