Thank you Anne Arundel Community College for allowing me to serve you. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Anne Arundel County on the AACC Board of Trustees. I have learned so much about how higher education institutions work and how they can help people. This role lead to me changing my major after I realized that my heart is in serving my peers and the citizens of Anne Arundel County. Thank you for allowing me to serve. I look forward to continue serving the community through other roles. I’m excited to share I’ll be transferring to the University of Baltimore as a Policy, Politics, and International Affairs major as I look for the next best way to serve our communities.

1. The Board of Trustees appointed Linda as its student board member at its May 18 meeting ☝️
2. The Student Member has full voting rights and will attend her first board committee meeting on Thursday, August 17, 2023 🗳️
3. She is a rising senior at Annapolis High School 🎒
4. Linda is a frequent visitor of Deale Library 📚
5. She studies several languages including French, Spanish and Russian 🌏

Last week, the AACC Board of Trustees posthumously awarded emeritus status to Dr. Rajwant Gill. Dr. Gill was a retired professor of Computer Science at AACC after teaching for 34 years. She believed that diligence, desire for excellence, focus, and creativity were characteristics that positively shaped not only students but also humanity. The AACC Foundation is honored to continue to recognize Dr. Gill's memory through the Dr. Rajwant "Raj" Kaur Gill Memorial Scholarship established in 2017. Members of Dr. Gill's family, including her husband, daughter, and granddaughter, accepted the medallion while additional members of Dr. Gill's family, who live out of state, watched the ceremony virtually.

Congratulations to the Class of ‘23! I’m so proud of this years graduating class. It’s inspiring to see our student succeed in the real would after leaving AACC. Our students are the foundation of our county’s workforce.
