Join us for our first ever meeting of our new Veterans' Book Club, a community book club for veterans and service members. This club meets on the third Friday of every other month. Our first meeting will be on Friday, November 20th at 2:00pm in the Library Meeting Room.

We are reading the classic American novella, "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck, the story of two men facing a world marked by petty tyranny, misunderstanding, jealousy, and callousness, and the friendship and dream they share. Read the book and return to the library for a lively discussion.

Edgar Allan Poe returns!

Join us on the evening of Monday, October 26th and travel back in time to see Edgar Allan Poe in the flesh! Poe will discuss his life, banter with the audience, and read passages of his acclaimed works.

The amazing Todd Loughry portrays Edgar Allan Poe in this autumn Guthrie tradition on Monday, October 26th at 6:00 pm in the John and Joan Bare Center.

There are three new bestsellers, one new audiobook, 77 new children's books, and 49 other new books, including seven that are available online.

UPDATE: The parking lot has reopened!

NOTICE: On Wednesday, October 21st, Guthrie Memorial Library's back parking lot, located on the North side of the building, will be CLOSED while a new HVAC unit is installed. Please plan your library trip accordingly and be aware that parking may not be immediately available.

We will update our social media when installation is complete and the lot has reopened. Please note that this is subject to change based on weather conditions or other factors beyond our control. Check library social media or call us at 717-632-5183 for updates.

On Saturday, October 17th at 1:30 pm, join us for a powerful afternoon of music, film, and inspiration in this special presentation of Maestra, an acclaimed documentary following five extraordinary women from around the world as they challenge barriers in the male-dominated world of orchestral conducting. Hanover Symphony Orchestra Assistant Director Susan Gross and local musicians will perform a special selection of music before the screening. A Q&A will follow the film!

This is a FREE film screening and presentation. Registration is not required.
