THIS SEPTEMBER: Support Guthrie Memorial Library—Hanover's Public Library *AND* have fun doing it!

On Sunday, September 6th at Moul Field, join Guthrie staff at the Hanover Chili Cookoff, organized by the Exchange Club of Hanover, PA. This Hanover tradition features a Chili Competition, co****le tournament, bull riding competition, entertainment, food, drink, games, and a FREE Kids Zone staffed by your favorite Hanover librarians! Advanced tickets are $12 each and available at Guthrie Memorial Library's Main Desk. Proceeds support local non-profits, including Guthrie Memorial Library!

On Tuesday, September 22nd at the Warehime-Myers Mansion, join us for a new library fundraiser: The Evening of the Equinox. Celebrate this celestial event with an evening of music, heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, and conversation with other library lovers—all in support of Guthrie Memorial Library. And we are pleased to welcome local author Audrey Clare Farley as our special guest speaker. Tickets are $55 each and are available online now: https://e.givesmart.com/events/ORL/ . Celebrate the Autumn Equinox with an evening of music, heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, and conversation with other library lovers—all in support of Guthrie Memorial Library. LAST DAY TO REGISTER: FRIDAY, AUGUST 14TH!

Join us for an exciting community picnic for adults with special needs and their companions on August 19th from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at Union Park. The Borough of Hanover Parks & Recreation & Guthrie Memorial Library present Therapeutic Recreation Day, a picnic event with food, games, music, therapy dogs, touch-a-truck, and more!

Pre-registration is required and costs $20 per person (includes their companion or accompanying family member). Register at the Main Desk of Guthrie Memorial Library by August 14th!

The Good Times Social Club returns September 2nd! The Good Times Social Club is a weekly program for adults with special needs and their companions. Each week we focus on a new activity together—a craft, game, movie, or special guest speaker. Take a look at our September schedule of events:

September 2: Clay Sculptures - Make your own mini-sculpture using air dry clay!
September 9: Puzzle Day - Work together or independently to solve puzzles of all kinds: jigsaw, word search, look and finds, etc.
September 16: Fire Safety Day - Hanover Area Fire & Rescue will be here to give us fire safety tips!
September 23: Movie Day - Watch this 2010 animated princess movie about a girl with magically long hair!
