This is what democracy looks like. We stand with the organizers and activists in Hartford, VT who are working tirelessly to pass a Welcoming Ordinance that would prevent coordination between local police and ICE. In the time since today’s rally was organized, 10 more people were detained. Swipe to the final image to read more about Rise! In a letter to Gov. Sununu, President Hanlon expressed his support in favor of voting rights bills HB 105, HB 106, and SB 67.

“As you are aware, students are organized on these issues and have spoken up loudly and clearly about their wish to exercise their right to vote,” wrote President Hanlon.

We thank President Hanlon for his support and for responding to our activism.

Read his letter here:

In a July 23 letter addressed to Gov. Chris Sununu (R), Hanlon urged the New Hampshire governor to support three pending pieces of legislation — House Bills 105 and 106 and Senate Bill 67 — all of which were passed by the Democratic-controlled state legislature earlier this year.

It’s time to fight back, en masse. On July 12th, thousands of people worldwide will send a message:
❗️We will not accept concentration camps in the United States.
❗️We will not accept the inhuman detention of people seeking safety, work, and livelihood.
❗️We will not accept family separation.
❗️ We will fight for US immigration policies that respect the humanity of every person who reaches our borders.
Thank you to ’s CoFIRED, LALACS program, and the Upper Valley Interfaith Project for organizing a vigil 🌿RIGHT HERE🍃tomorrow night on the Green. Other will be attending vigils in Portsmouth, Nashua, Dover, and Peterborough

Here is the Dartmouth College Democrats' letter to Executive Councilor Mike Cryans on the nomination of Attorney General Gordon MacDonald for Chief Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court. We believe that there are troubling patterns in AG MacDonald’s history on voting and reproductive rights and that during his confirmation process he should answer to and clarify his positions.
