Are you the person who actually enjoys organizing, cleaning and putting things in order? 🧹 📦✨

Put those skills to work this year during 9/11 Day of Service with The Arc of Hanover! Volunteers will work alongside trained staff to help organize and prepare donations at the thrift store — unpacking boxes, sorting items, checking that donations are in working condition and getting everything ready for its next chapter. 🛍️

Your time helps The Arc of Hanover advocate for inclusion, connect families and strengthen support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 💙

Hanover County Public Works' Route 360 Widening Project was selected as a 2026 VTCA Engineering Award winner! 🏆

The team's effort and ex*****on of a project that had been under development since the 1990s is heralded for its ability to "deliver major infrastructure improvements while keeping a community connected and moving."

All of us on extend a round of applause for the entire team involved with a project that was less than perfect at times. Their commitment to accomplishing their goal the right way has resulted in something all residents can benefit from and be proud of. 👏

Were you a Girl Scout? Or maybe you simply believe in making the world a better place — one project at a time?

This year’s 9/11 Day of Service is an opportunity to give back by helping revitalize and beautify a local Memorial Garden. Volunteers will roll up their sleeves to cut back brush and weeds, re-mulch the garden, clean bricks and help restore the space. 🌱🧹🌸

It’s a hands-on project for anyone who enjoys working outdoors and seeing the difference their hard work can make. Girl Scouts build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Help us carry that spirit of service forward.

Gather your friends, family or fellow former Girl Scouts and join us for 9/11 Day of Service. Together, we can honor the past, care for our community and leave Hanover a little better than we found it.

🤝 MCEF has followed one mission for 50 years — to help Mechanicsville residents in need.

36 churches make up MCEF - Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions and this year has been a celebration of all of their contributions to residents through food and clothing donations. Pat Hubert, their President, knows that it can't happen without the volunteers. You can find out how you can help or be helped at www.4mcef.com and be sure to take in the patriotic sights and sounds at their benefit concert on Sept. 11 featuring Hanover High School Orchestra.
