Area 6, Chester store Front Recruiting Office was proud to host the Scherra family as they came together for the enlistment of PFC McKenzie Scherra, a Thomas Dale HS Graduate, into the Virginia Army National Guard as an 88M - Motor Transport Operator! She was sworn in by her uncle Col Scherra of the US Army War College, and was provided the US Flag backdrop by her cousins PVT Scherra and Cadet Scherra both attending West Point Prepatory Academy! Huge shoutout to SFC Hilliman for looking out for the best interest of his applicant and coordinating this event to ensure her families attendance and participation. Guard Family, guard Strong!!

So on Wednesday, in recognition of my performance, I was afforded the opportunity to take a written test, perform a series of scenario based testing, and participate in a Board (panel interview and inspection) to determine my qualification and eligibility to earn my Expert Recruiting Badge. I am proud to say that I was successful! Having said that I wish to recognize that my success is a direct result of not just a little hard work, but the influence, instruction and guidance I have been fortunate enough to receive from my leaders, mentors,
supervisors and peers, not just in Recruiting, but throughout my career . To them I express my continued gratitude. More importantly I could not be where I am or the man I am today without the support of my wife and family. They have supported me (and tolerated me) throughout!
