That’s a wrap on Picnic in the Park!
Six Wednesdays of performers, crowds of 70-100 each week. Performers who knew exactly how to hold kids’ attention, and more happy energy than we could fit in one photo.

Does your teenager have two free afternoons a week?

HPR is hiring ages 16+ as counselors for KAST, our after-school program for elementary school kids.
Starting pay is $16-19/hour, 2:30-5:30/5:45 and Wednesday is 1:30-5:30, min. two days a week. We build the schedule around sports, rehearsal, and homework.

What they'll actually do: run games, help with projects, get kids outside, serve snack, and play.
What they'll get: real childcare experience that means something on a college application, a first reference from a municipal employer, and the specific confidence that comes from being the person elementary school students listen to.

No experience required. If they're good with kids, we'll teach them the rest.

Last week, Squam Lakes Natural Science Center brought Animals with Bad Reputations to the park. Our youngest guests walked away with at least two facts worth sharing with friends and family.

One: A skunk’s coat varies far more than you think. Researchers found that in areas where predators, like coyotes are scarce, a single litter of skunks can come out in every pattern. They can have bold stripes to nearly all black or all white. With less danger around, there is less pressure to wear the traditional warning sign.

Two: There is exactly one good reason to pick up a turtle, and that’s to help it across a road. Move it the way it was already walking, never turn it around, and always ask a grown-up for help.

📸 Five weeks at Ray School flew by! 📸

What a season it’s been! Camp is wrapping up its time at Ray School, and our campers have packed in so much — from field trips to performances to everyday camp fun. Check out our pictures from the summer. 🌞

Next week we’re rounding out the season in week 6 at the Ray School. The following week, QUEST Minicamp will complete our summer camp program! We’ll see our kindergarteners & 1st graders at the Richard W. Black Community Center, and our 2nd-5th graders at Tenney Park.

Thanks for a great summer so far, campers and families. 💙💚
