National Skilled Nursing Care Week continues at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center with our “Western Wednesday” celebration!

Our residents had an amazing time visiting the Mays Farm Petting Zoo, where they cuddled rabbits, petted alpacas and goats, and even fed cows and sheep. There was so much laughter, so many smiles, and countless sweet moments shared throughout the day.

Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces reminds us how meaningful these simple experiences can be. We are so thankful for the memories being made during this special week of celebrating our incredible residents! ❤️

🌸 National Skilled Nursing Care Week – Moments in Bloom 🌸

Today our residents enjoyed spending time at our “Fix-It Stations,” where they rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on with meaningful activities they once loved doing. From polishing car parts and painting cabinets to putting together fences and even making homemade apple pie, the smiles and memories shared were truly priceless.

It’s the simple moments like these that we sometimes take for granted, but for our residents, these activities bring back cherished memories, a sense of purpose, and moments of joy that help them bloom.

We are so thankful to celebrate these special moments together during National Skilled Nursing Care Week! ❤️

🌸 National Skilled Nursing Care Week is off to a beautiful start here at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center as we celebrate this year’s theme, Moments in Bloom. 🌼

Our residents started the day with a fun-filled round of Gardening Bingo, complete with garden-themed prizes and lots of laughter. 🌱💚

We ended the day with a very special flower craft activity where residents created flower petals filled with some of the happiest moments of their lives. From cherished family memories and lifelong friendships to proud accomplishments and joyful celebrations, the flower blossomed with beautiful stories and heartfelt reflection. 🌷

It is such an honor to celebrate the memories, stories, and incredible lives of our veterans each and every day.

We had such a special day celebrating the wonderful mothers who are also veterans here at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center. 🇺🇸💐

Our lady veterans enjoyed a delightful lunch at Cracker Barrel filled with laughter, sweet conversations, and precious memories, followed by a little shopping and fun together. These women have not only served our country with strength and courage, but they have also poured endless love, wisdom, and care into their families through the years.

We truly have some of the very best mothers around, and it is such an honor to celebrate them and all they mean to us. ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day!

🦸‍♀️💙 Happy Nurses Week to our real-life superheroes! 💙🦸‍♂️

This Nurses Week, we celebrate the heroes who don’t wear capes… they wear scrubs. Thank you for your endless dedication, resilience, and care for our communities.

You are appreciated more than words can say. 💫🩺

We're proud to invest in the future of nursing-and even prouder to celebrate the incredible individuals who make a difference every day at WKVC. Our Nurse Loan Repayment Program is designed to support licensed nurses who commit to serving with us for one year, helping ease the financial burden of education while building a meaningful career caring for our veterans.

We are excited to recognize our most recent outstanding recipients, Meghann Suggs, RN and Joyce Winstead, RN. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence truly represent the heart of what we do.

Congratulations to you both on this well-deserved achievement! 👏👏🎉🎉
